Maureen Denise McCormick, the sole child from Richard McCormick Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father worked as an elementary school teacher, and her mom was mother at home. She has three older brothers: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick began performing and singing at a very young age. When McCormick was six years older, she was crowned her first prize in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley pageant. Pat Domigan at Jack Wormser Agency called to ask her if she'd like to go into the show business. McCormick was chosen to play in her first big role in 1964 in an tv commercial featuring Mattels latest doll Baby Pattaburp. In the following year, she appeared in the role of Chatty Cathy in a commercial before being cast in the show Wind It Up and It's Breaks by The La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick, chosen from more than 1200 auditioning children to play the oldest of three double-headed daughters in The Brady Bunch (1969) which starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed. The show lasted for five seasons. In her memoir Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice which was published in 2008 McCormick disclosed that during the shows fifth season she was close to losing her virginity to her onscreen co-star and brother Barry Williams. In 2008, McCormick revealed in her book Heres the Truth: surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice that during season five on the show she almost lost her virginity to actor Barry Williams. She told me, but the timing wasn't right for us.
